Singing | Passages | Josh Misener

There is something powerful about singing.  We are creatures that need to and love to be around music and participate in it at some level.  Singing has the power to unite us, to comfort us and to combat demon oppression.  Our praise and worship to God is not based on our feelings, emotions or our circumstances, we praise and we sing in response to what God is doing and to who He is. It's time for us as the body of Christ to grow in this, that we might be known as a church that expresses its love to the Lord boastfully and loudly in song.

Processing Pain | Passages | Josh Misener

Hannah is an incredible woman and we’re going to walk through her story in 1 Samuel 1. She experiences heartache and suffering yet gives us a means to process such pain.  We, especially in the western world, can process our pain in unhealthy ways by things like suppressing, blaming, transference or even projecting on social media. Hannah processes her pain through prayer and also by having real conversations and as she processes her pain in this way, she finds herself in a place of great peace.

Sadly, one of the recurring themes in one’s life is that there was a bad decision, a failure, a mistake, a defiance, a betrayal…and this caused a deviation from one trajectory of life to another. Because of a single or many bad decisions, you live with a sense of guilt or shame, and this has prevented you from fulfilling your divine purpose. I have several questions that I want to ask…one being, what if the weight of shame was removed? What then?
